Is Silence REALLY Golden??

I've been curious about the statement, "Silence is golden."

Here's why:

When a person is silent, more times than not, that person is pondering something that likely involves you.

Silence might signify distain or discontent with the current situation.

Silence might mean someone is in pain, not just emotional, but physical pain and doesn't know how to reach out for help or feels weak asking for assistance.

Silence might mean a bomb of some type is about to fall upon you.

Silence might mean someone is bored or tired of your company (meaning, REMOVE YOURSELF!).

Silence might mean inner struggle or turmoil.

Silence can mean sickness though I hope that's not the case for you, my reader.

IN RETROSPECT.. yes, the attorney will give you the other side of the coin:

Silence may mean that the other person is so happy there's nothing more that needs to be said.

Silence might mean prayer (heathens, seek God here).

Silence might mean reflection (ahhh.. memories, la la la).

Silence might mean 'stars' or the act of relaxation.

And, my favorite, SILENCE might mean that a person is in FREEFALL. I'd hope the freefall is the freefall that occurs when you let go of the straps and fall into the arms of the person who loves you the most. Of course, you reciprocate those emotions.

HERE'S HOPING YOUR NEW YEAR IS FULL OF GOLDEN MOMENTS, BOTH SILENT AND OTHERWISE.
